Garden City, N.Y. - Senior volleyball player Lauren Flanagan (Boulder, CO) was recognized for her academic and athletic accomplishments by CoSida/ESPN the magazine as an Academic All-District selection. This is the second such honor for Flanagan, who was a second-team all-district award winner.

Flanagan, a third-team selection last year, is just the second player to earn CoSIDA all-district honors, Lauren Schultz earned second-team accolades in 2001. A three-time East Coast Conference (ECC) all-academic team selection, Flanagan was recently named an ECC first-team all-conference performer after leading the team in hitting percentage (.328), solo blocks (39), block assists (72) and total blocks (111).

A business administration major, Flanagan boasts a 3.88 GPA to go along with her strong play at middle blocker, which helped the Panthers to a school record 27 wins (27-7), a second place finish in the ECC and the programs first ever NCAA berth.

The Panthers will return to action on Thursday, November 15, 2007 when they travel to Oakdale, New York to take on second seeded Bryant in the first round of the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional.
