Brookville, N.Y. - The Adelphi University volleyball team dropped a tough conference match to local rival C.W. Post on Monday night at the Pratt Center. The Panthers fell to the Pioneers 30-19, 22-30, 30-13, 23-30, 10-15. Adelphi drops to 7-13 overall and 3-6 in the NYCAC. Post improves to 6-17 and 3-5 in the NYCAC.

Monday night's match was a make-up date from September 18th, when the contest was cancelled due to electrical difficulities at the Pratt Center.

Freshman Rachael Cornick continued to lead Adelphi, recording 19 kills and 15 digs for her ninth double-double of the season. Sophomore Meaghan Joyce collected 13 digs and freshman Brittany Addeo had 40 assists, nine digs and five kills for the Panthers.

Both teams were evenly matched with Adelphi and C.W. Post hitting .226 and 223, respectively. Defensively, the Panthers held the advantage on blocks, with 10.5 compared with 4.0 for the Pioneers.

C.W.Post's Lauren Dunne led all players with 23 kills and six digs. Cinthia Serowik added 18 kills and Lauren Charles had 59 assists.

Adelphi returns to action on Thursday, Oct. 30, traveling to Pace University for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
