Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi blanked visiting Southern Connecticut State University 3-0 last night to improve to 4-9 overall, while Southern Connecticut drops to 0-9 with the loss. The first game was back and forth with both teams winning three and four points at a time, but Adelphi came out on top 30-23. The Panthers took control in the second game stringing together six points in a row on two separate occasions to take the game 30-12. The third game was played very much like the first with both teams exchanging points. But Adelphi was able to hang on for the 3-0 win by taking the third game 30-24. Adelphi will play host to NYIT on Thursday, October 9th. The start time is set for 7 pm inside historic Woodruff Hall.
