Garden City, N.Y. - On the first day of the Indiana (PA) University tournament the Panthers posted two wins, picking up a 3-2 decesion over IUPA and blanking Salem International 3-0. Senior Brittany Addeo led the team with 78 assists in two games, while junior Kathleen Carney posted a team high 21 kills.

The Panthers took an early 2-0 lead in game one, taking the first two games, 33-31 and 30-28. However IUPA battled back taking game three and four, 30-19 and 30-21. IUPA opened the fifth game with the momentum, but could not close out Adelphi as the Panthers took the match with a 17-15 game five victory.

Carney posted a team-high 14 kills, while Amy Williams led the way with 16 digs. Addeo picked up 45 assists in the win.

Game two was a much easier affair for the Panthers as they blanked Salem International 3-0. Adelphi took game one, 30-21 and game two, 30-24 and closed things out with a 30-16 win in game three.

Kelsey led the attack against Salem International with 10 kills, while Addeo chipped in 33 assists. Williams led the Panthers in digs for the second game in a row with 11.

Adelphi will return to action on Saturday, September 1 when they take on Georgian Court at 10:00 am.
