Adelphi University freshman Maria Toft (Copenhagen, Denmark) was named Northeast-10 Conference Co-Player and Freshman of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.

In a 2-0 week for the Panthers, Toft collected wins at #1 and #2 singles. In an 8-1 win over Franklin Pierce University, she won 6-2 and 6-0 at #2 singles. In a 9-0 win over Saint Anselm College, Toft earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at #1 singles.

The Panthers have completed the fall portion of their schedule and return to action on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 when they play host to Pace University at 3:00 pm.
