Mahwah, NJ - Adelphi Women's Tennis played out a 2-1 weekend, facing conference rival C.W. Post and two non-conference matches against Ramapo College and Gwynedd-Mercy College. The Panthers played the Pioneers to a 7-2 win, but saw loses to the Roadrunners and Griffins, 5-4 and 6-3 respectfully. The Panthers now stand at 4-2 overall, 2-0 in the East Coast Conference (ECC).

The Brown and Gold opened up with a strong doubles performance during the C.W. Post match, taking all three matches. In singles competition, Alda Ribeiro and Carolyn Smith remained undefeated for the Panthers in the number one and two postions, as they came out on top against Rosemary Murrago and Chloe Przoner respectfully. Adelphi also claimed victories in the fourth and fifth spot by Jamie Sussman and Kristina Radeva.

The Panthers then traveled to Mahwah, NJ to face Ramapo College in a non-conference match up. Adelphi remained solid in the one and two singles positions held by Ribeiro and Smith, both winning their matches 6-0,6-1 and 6-2,6-2 respectfully. Seeing tough competition, the Panthers dropped their remaining singles match ups, but fought back in doubles to win two out of three. The duo of Ribeiro and Megan Margino defeated Liza Wyble and Allison Tukel, 8-3, while Sussman and Smith defeated Laura Strandberg and Taryn Potenza, 8-6.

Resuming action the following day, the Brown and Gold faced non-conference Gwynedd-Mercy College. The Pennsylvanian native team was decisive in their singles approach, taking five out of six matches. Ribeiro , the Panthers' loan winner, extended her winning streak to six in the lead spot and still remains undefeated. However, the Panthers would rally in doubles once again, taking two out of three by the tandems of Ribeiro and Margino and Sussman and Smith.

The Panthers will resume tennis action when they host Queens College home at Adelphi University, on September, 23. Action begins at 3:00 p.m.
