Franklin Pierce Box Score/Saint Anselm Box Score

The Adelphi University picked up two conference wins this past weekend in New Hampshire. The Panthers defeated Franklin Pierce University and Saint Anselm College, 8-1 and 9-0, respectively. The Panthers improve to 7-0 and 5-0 in the Northeast-10.

In their 8-1 win over Franklin Pierce on Saturday, the Panthers' only loss came in doubles competition. Michelle Gurda collected wins at #4 singles and #1 doubles. Adelphi swept through singles play with convincing wins from Alda Ribeiro, Maria Toft, Carolyn Smith, Michelle Gurda, Amanda Aniboli, and Kristina Radeva at #1-#6, respectively. Tricia Burns and Megan Margino also picked up an 8-2 vicroty at #3 doubles.

In the Panthers' 9-0 shutout at Saint Anselm on Sunday, Toft won at #1 singles 6-0, 6-0, as did Ribeiro at #2 singles. Radeva collected an 8-0 Pro Set victory at #6 singles. The team of Toft and Ribeiro picked up a convincing 8-0 win at #1 doubles, while Smith and Margino also picked up an 8-0 victory at #3 doubles.

The Panthers have completed the fall portion of their schedule and resume play in the spring on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 when they play host to Pace University at 3:00 pm.
