Bronxville, N.Y. - The women's tennis team traveled to Bronxville, New York on Wednesday to face-off against Concordia College in their second of four straight conference matches. The Panthers swept the singles matches and dropped just one doubles match-up on their way to an 8-1 win. With the win the Panthers improve to 4-3-1 on the season and 4-2 in the conference. Claudia Nunez (Aventura, FL) continued her strong play at number one singles, topping Sabrina Hayer 6-1, 6-0. Leigh Fennessey (Saratoga, N.Y.) also played well, blanking her opponent, Kyoko Yumakawa in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-0. Both Fennessey and Nunez where double winners along with Janine Canale (Queensbury, N.Y.) and Melissa Pashayan (Garden City, N.Y.), who won their singles matches by default. Adelphi returns to action on Thursday, October 7th when they play host to visiting New Haven at 4:00 pm. Results: Doubles: |
