The Adelphi University women's tennis team hosted The College of St. Rose on Saturday afternoon at the Eagle Ave. Tennis Center in West Hempstead. The Panthers swept singles play en route to the 8-1 victory. The win improves Adelphi to 5-0 and 3-0 in the Northeast-10, while St. Rose falls to 0-6 and 0-5 in the league.

Freshman Maria Toft remained perfect on the season with her third win at #1 singles this season with a convincing 6-1, 6-0 victory on Saturday. Rounding out the rest of the singles wins for the Panthers were: junior Alda Ribeiro (6-0, 6-0), freshman Michelle Gurda (7-5, 6-1), sophomore Carolyn Smith (6-2, 6-1), junior Megan Margino (6-3, 6-2), and senior Amanda Aniboli (6-0, 6-1) at #2-#5, respectively.

The lone win for the Golden Knights came in doubles play as Jen Crego and Kim Schacher defeated senior Tricia Burns and sophomore Nicole Byrnes, 8-2, at #2 doubles. Smith and Gurda recorded an 8-5 victory at #1 doubles, while junior Jamie Sussman and senior Kristina Radeva earned an 8-6 victory at #3 doubles.

The Panthers return to action on Saturday, October 10 when they travel to Philadelphia University for a non-conference match at 12:00 pm.
