Women's Tennis Drops 5-4 Decision to Caldwell

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's tennis team hosted the Caldwell College Cougars in a non-conference match at Hempstead Lake State Park, September 28. Adelphi lost a tough match 5-4, picking up three wins in singles play with only one in doubles competition. Caldwell pulled out the victory winning two of the three doubles matches. The victory improves the Cougars' record to 4-4 on the season, while the Panthers drop to 2-5.

Seniors Amanda Aniboli (West Islip, N.Y.) and Leah Moore (Abington, PA) along with freshman Tricia Burns (Bristol, CT) combined to win Adelphi's singles matches. Aniboli defeated Patty Messick 6-1, 6-3, Moore defeated Joellen Keaney 6-4, 7-5, and Burns won 6-2, 6-1 over Laura Sinisgallo.

In doubles play, Burns and Aniboli picked up the win for Adelphi 9-8 (7-2) over Jessica Ouderkirk and Danielle O'Connell.

Adelphi is back in action October 2 at Molloy College in an ECC match.
