Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi women's tennis team fell short against Queens on Tuesday afternoon, losing 7-2.

The Panthers (0-2) posted wins at the No. 1 and No. 6 singles spots while Rebecca Gressin and Missy Kutner fell just short in doubles action by a break of serve, 8-6.

Claudia Nunez defeated Karen Chang 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1, while Melissa Pashayan earned a 6-4, 6-1 victory in the sixth slot. However it wasn't enough as the Knights' won the No. 2-5 singles matches in straight sets and won all three doubles matches.

Adelphi returns to action today, Thursday 16 at home against Caldwell at 4 p.m.
