The Panthers fell to Philadelphia 7-1, but Tashi Sharma won first flight singles for Adelphi.

Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi opened their 2003 with a 7-1 loss to Philadelphia on Saturday. The play of junior Tashi Sharma (Kathmandu, Nepal) gave the Panthers something to cheer about as she won her first flight singles match in straight sets. The loss drops the Panthers to 0-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Adelphi will face conference rival New Haven this Thursday, on the campus of New Haven at 4 pm.
