Garden City, N.Y. - Sunday's Bat for A Cause Clinic hosted by the Adelphi University Softball Team will go off as scheduled according to Head Coach Paige Smith. Depending on the weather, the clinic will take place either indoors in the gym or at Janet L. Ficke Field.

"Well, it wouldn't be softball in the Northeast if we didn't have weather issues," said Coach Smith. "It is going to be a great day. Thank you for your interest and ultimately in contributing to the healthy lifestyles of these young ladies."

Every effort will be made to hold the clinic outdoors, however, with the projected forecast of rain, the field house (all three gyms) has been secured for the event. A team representative will be at the field, day of, directing traffic, but please make sure to pack sneakers in the event the clinic moves indoors.

Only non-marking sneakers will be allowed in the gym and indoor balls and whiffles, along with the use of one cage will be set up. "It won't be as nice as we had planned for the outdoors, but I assure you everyone will have a great time and we will be raising money for a fantastic cause," added coach Smith.

The team will be selling the "At Bat for a Cause" T-shirts for $10.00 per shirt for parents and spectators as well as giving them to the participants. The clinic is free of charge, but they will be accepting donations of all sizes at the check-in table.
