Feb. 24, 2004 Brookville, N.Y. - For the second year in a row, softball coaches from the New York Collegiate Athletic Conference have tabbed the C.W. Post Pioneers as their selection to win the conference in 2004. Adelphi ranked third behind the University of New Haven. In balloting announced today, 11 of the conference's 13 coaches made their choices, with eight of those naming C.W. Post at the top. The remaining selectors all chose New Haven, which also finished runnerup in the balloting along with Adelphi. Softball action begins for NYCAC teams on Friday, March 5 as the Dowling Golden Lions take on Sunday, March 7 against Southwest Minnesota State at the Rebel Games in Orlando, FL. The first scheduled conference matchup will take place on Wednesday, March 17 when C.W. Post travels to Mercy. Adelphi opens its conference schedule at home on Saturday, March 20, hosting Concordia College. Below is the coaches ranking, with last season's conference finish and record in parentheses):
