Game One|Game Two

Bronxville, N.Y. - Freshman Samantha Johnston was a perfect 6-for-6 with three runs scored and three RBI to help the Panthers to a 10-0 and 9-0 conference sweep of Concordia College this afternoon. The Panthers improve to 25-11 and 12-2 in the league, while the Clippers fall to 1-22 and 0-14 in the NYCAC.

Game One
After reaching first on a single and stealing second, Johnston gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead after scoring on a Concordia error. The Panthers took advantage of two more Clipper errors in the third inning to load the bases. This set up a grandslam homerun by freshman Diana DiPiano to push the lead to 5-0. Adelphi closed out the game in the sixth inning with five runs scored. Sophomore Baily Lawrence accounted for the final two RBI, driving home freshman Jessica Vogt and sophomore Julie Schaper on a fielder's choice.

Senior Carla Buonviaggio (7-4), who was 2-for-3 from the plate, pitched the one-hitter. She struck out five and walked three.

Adelphi had 10 runs on 14 hits with no errors. Concordia had no runs on one hit with three errors.

Game Two
The Panthers took an early 4-0 lead in the first inning. Johnston and Schaper scored first on an error by the Clippers. Junior Alana daSilva singled to bring home Vogt, while a sacrifice fly by senior Beth Fletcher scored daSilva. Leading 5-0 going into the sixth, the Panthers rattled off four runs to seal the win.

Junior Sheila Feldman (3-3) pitched the one-hitter, striking out 12 of 18 batters faced and walking one.

Adelphi had nine runs on 13 hits with no errors. Concordia had no runs on one hit with one error.

The Panthers were originally scheduled to play Dominican College this Sunday, however the game was cancelled due to impending rain. It will not be rescheduled.

Next up, Adelphi will host cross-town rival and #19-ranked C.W. Post on Wednesday, April 26, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
