Briarcliff, N.Y. - Sophomore Stephanie Byster went 5-for-6, including one HR, two runs scored and three RBI to lead Adelphi to a 1-0 and 10-0 (5) sweep of Pace University in a non-conference twinbill this afternoon. The Panthers improve to 21-9, while the Setters fall to 14-15. Senior Katie Brophy went 3-for-6 with three RBI and two runs scored, while senior Angela Martin was 1-for-1 with two RBI and three runs. Game One Junior Christine Robinson (8-4) pitched the complete four-hitter, with no walks, no strikeouts against 24 batters faced. Adelphi nad one run on five hits with one error. Pace had no runs on four htis with no errors. Game Two Sophomore Leighann Bell recorded the win, allowing one hit in three innings. Sophomore Marisa Romeo closed out the game with three hits, striking out one. Adelphi had 10 runs on 14 hits with no errors. Pace had no runs on four hits with one error. The Panthers return to action tomorrow, April 16, hosting Mercy College in a conference doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m. |
