Coach Smith says, "Deirdre is a unique pitcher whose natural style of throwing makes it nearly impossible for opposing offenses to get the ball off of the ground. In addition to her pitching, Deirdre possesses a great deal of power that will add to our already potent offense."

2009: Appeared in six games, getting the start in three.... Contributed one hit and one putout... made an appearance on the mound in two games.

2008: Appeared in 37 games while starting 26...batted.359 and collected 28 hits...her first collegiate hit came during a 4-3 loss against Fairmont State (3/9) where she also recorded her first collegiate strikeout...on the mound, she appeared in 15 games while starting in eight and tossing three complete games and two shutouts...she posted a 5-5 record and 1.54 era...in 54.2 innings pitched, she recorded 48 strikeouts and let up just 43 hits...got her first collegiate win in a 1-0 victory over Domincan (3/26).

At East Islip High School: Four-year letterwinner in softball...all-county selection as a sophomore and all-division as a junior...her senor year, was an all-county, all-long island and all-state selection...lettered two years in basketball...honor roll as a sophomore.

Personal: Daughter of Mike and Anne...born April 4...has one brother, Michael and one sister, Dayna...a Speech major who wants a career in speech or special education...enjoys hanging out with friends, playing softball and going to the beach...played for the Long Island Chargers.
