Murphy Receives NCAA Statistical Honor

Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University women's lacrosse goalkeeper Allyson Murphy (Williston Park, N.Y.) will be honored by the NCAA with a plaque recognizing her as the 2006 NCAA Division II Leader in goals against average. The women's lacrosse team will also be given a plaque commemorating their Division II leading winning percentage (0.941).

Murphy allowed just 6.10 goals per contest, edging out Charlotte Dixon of Pfeiffer by just less than half a percent (6.59). Her 0.567 save percentage also ranked her second in the nation. Murphy is a two-time All-America and was the winning goalkeeper on both national championship teams for Adelphi.

Murphy was named to the 2006 NCAA All-Tournament Team after combining for 19 saves in the Final Four and was honored as the C. Markland Kelly Goalie of the Year by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA).
