July 18, 2007 Garden City, N.Y. - Kristen Hordy joins the Adelphi University women's lacrosse staff as announced today by Head Coach Joe Spallina. Hordy, a two-time All-American from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, will work primarily with the goalkeepers and the defense. "Kristen is a tremendous addition to our coaching staff and we are extremely excited to have her as part of the Adelphi family," Spallina said. "Our young student-athletes will benefit from her presence." Hordy, a 2007 graduate of UNC, is a two-time IWLCA All-American and was twice named the ACC Goalie of the Year. She holds the Carolina record for most goals in a season (173) and most saves in a game (20). The two-time Tewaarton nominee was selected to play for the North/South team and was named second-team all-South. A graduate of Northport High School, Hordy lettered four years in lacrosse, three in volleyball and two in basketball. She also played two years with the Long Island Elite club lacrosse team. Hordy is currently enrolled in the physical education masters program at Adelphi. |
