Women's Lacrosse Headed to Final Four

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's lacrosse team will rematch C.W. Post in the first game of the NCAA Final Four on Saturday, May 13 at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois.

The championship provides for a four-team tournament. Two teams from each region (North and South) will be paired together in the semifinals. The winners will advance to the final.

Semifinal games will be played May 13 and will feature C.W. Post (16-1) versus Adelphi University (14-1) in the 11:30 a.m. game. Limestone College (16-3) and West Chester University of Pennsylvania (15-2) will compete in the 2 p.m. game at the Sports Complex at Benedictine University. The championship final will be contested at noon May 14, and will be featured live on College Sports Television (CSTV). All times are Central.

This is Adelphi's third straight Final Four appearance and are 2-1 all-time. In 2004, the Panthers captured the school's first-ever women's championship with a win over West Chester. In 2005, Adelphi fell to eventual champions Stonehill College, 16-10, in the first round.

This will be the second meeting for the Panthers and Pioneers within the past week. C.W. Post captured the NYCAC Regular season title with a 13-12 double OT vistory over Adelphi on Saturday, May 6.
