Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi women's lacrosse swept the East Coast Conference's weekly honors this week. Sophomore Michelle Ceraso was named Player of the Week, junior Caitlin Fitzpatrick was Goalkeeper of the Week and freshman Erica Devito received the Rookie of the Week nod. The #2 ranked Panthers are off to a 2-0 start to the season helped along by strong play from these student-athletes. Ceraso recorded four goals in the season opener vs. Rollins College and followed up with three goals against AIC at home. Devito registered three goals in her first collegiate start against the Tars on February 20, then collected four goals in the season home opener versus the Yellowjackets. Fitzpatrick has 10 saves so far this season, allowing just three goals for a .769 save percentage. She helped Adelphi to its first shutout since 2007 with a 21-0 win over AIC. The Panthers return to action this Sunday, February 8, as they travel to St. Michael's College. |
