Adelphi University freshman Danielle Demola (Holtsville, N.Y.) was named Rookie of the Week by womensfieldhockey.com, it was announced Tuesday.

Demola helped lead the Panthers to a 2-0 week and earn them the fifth seed in the Northeast-10 Conferecne Tournament. In a 2-1 win over #5 UMass Lowell, the freshman defender recorded the game-winning assist late in the second half. Demola also led a defense that allowed nine shots in the Panthers' two wins last week.

The Panthers return to action tomorrow when they travel to take on fourth-seeded Merrimack College in the Quarterfinals of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament at 4:00 pm.
