The Adelphi University field hockey team has been ranked fifth in the North Region in the latest NCAA Division II Field Hockey Poll, it was announced Thursday.

The Panthers, who have won four of their last five games, are gearing up for #5 Stonehill College at home on Saturday at 2:00 pm. The Skyhawks, who sit 9-2 overall and 3-0 in the Northeast-10, are ranked first in the North Region. The University of Massachusetts-Lowell, Bentley University, and Merrimack College make up the rest of the North Region Poll.

The Panthers (7-4, 2-0 NE-10) are led by a pair of sophomores, Julianne Gerbino and Lucia Vigliotti. Gerbino is currently leading the team in points with 24 on 11 goals and two assists, while Vigliotti has a .804 save percentage and a 1.49 goals against avergae.

After Saturday's contest with Stonehill, the Panthers return to Competition Field to take on Franklin Pierce University on Homecoming Weekend, Saturday, October 10 at 12:00 pm.
