Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University Field Hockey team has released its 2009 schedule which is slated to begin on Thursday, August 27 at Seton Hill. The Panthers, who finished 3-8 in their first season back as an intercollegiate team, will compete in 19 contests, including 10 home games.

"The entire program is excited to go to a full 20-game schedule and the Northeast-10 is a great opportunity," said Head Coach Gloria O'Connor. "We are setting our goals high and I think that we are going to surprise some teams and be very competitive."

Adelphi will open its 2009 home schedule by hosting Bentley College on Saturday, September 5, at 1:00 p.m. The Panthers will host Franlin Pierce on Saturday, October 10 at 12 pm as part of the University's Homecoming celebration.

Adelphi will close out the home season on October 4 against UMass-Lowell before beginning play in the Northeast-10 Championships which run from October 28 through November 1.
