New Brunswick, NJ - The Adelphi University field hockey team traveled to New Brunswick, New Jersey on Sunday, September 14 for a meeting with Rutgers University club field hockey team. The Panthers took control early, building a 3-0 first half lead en route to a 5-0 victory.

Adelphi got goals from three different players as they moved out to a commanding 3-0 lead at the half. Julianne Gerbino and Jeanette Heimerle both notched a goal and added an assist, while Jessica Mulhern also found the back of the Scarlet Knight net with an assist from Brittany Kinsley. In addition Jacqueline Grant made 10 saves in goal to keep Rutgers scoreless.

Gerbino and Heimerle each notched another goal in the second half to push the Panther lead to 5-0, while Lucia Vigliotti made four stops to give Adelphi a 5-0 win.

The Panthers are currently 0-2 in NCAA play and return to action on September 20 when they travel to Madison, New Jersey to take on Drew University at noon.
