Cincotta; D'Ambrosio To Head Women's Bowling Program

Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University has named Dr. Robert Cincotta as the new coach of the women's bowling team and Michael D'Ambrosio as associate head coach as announced today. The program, which for the last two years has competed at the club level, will make the move to NCAA Division II status under their direction.

Cincotta's duties at Adelphi include all aspects of the NCAA Division II program including coaching, recruiting, scheduling and budget as well as other duties as assigned by the athletics director.

Cincotta has over ten years of collegiate coaching experience, developing 18 All-Americans, and is the winner of numerous coaching and teaching awards. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Pace University in 1980 and his masters in physical education from Adelphi in 1982. He received his J.D. from British -American University in 1999.

In addition to his coaching experience, Cincotta is also the Director of Heath, Physical Education and Athletics for Hempstead UFSD.

Also joining the Adelphi bowling staff is associate coach Michael D'Ambrosio, one of the only few appointed coach's that is an Active Professional Player and Instructor. D'Ambroso was the head bowling coach at St. Peter's for the last two years and currently owns a pro shop in Rockville Center Lanes Bowling Center.

The bowling team is scheduled to begin its season in November, 2006.
