Women's Bowling Places Fifth at Jeanette Lee Invite

 
 

 
Adelphi returns to action on December 27.

Lawrenceville, VA - The Adelphi University women's bowling team competed in day two action at the Jeanette Lee Invitational on Sunday December 2. The Panthers posted a record of 3-2 on the second day, raising their tournament record to 6-5, good enough for fifth overall. On the season Adelphi is 24-23 overall.

Match one saw the Panthers take on 2007 CIAA Champion Fayetteville State University. Adelphi took the early lead 182-152 but Fayetteville roared back with 180-202,179-208, and 179-208 efforts to pull ahead of the Panthers. The match concluded with Adelphi falling 165-195 for a 706-757 Fayetteville victory.

Match two saw the Panthers return to their winning ways with a victory over North Carolina Central University. Match three saw Elmhurst continue their winning way against Adelphi dropping the Panthers for the second time during the tournament 725-757.

Match four was against divisional rival St.Peter's College. The Panthers shot a season high 239 on way to a 747-683 victory. The fifth and final match of the day was against Kutztown University. The Golden Bears started fast with a 181-196 win but faltered along the way and Adelphi was able to take advantage, shooting a 205 in the final game to secure a 725-699 triumph.

Adelphi returns to action on December 27 when they participate in the FDU Holiday Jamboree in Glassboro, New Jersey.
