The Adelphi University bowling team collected the program's 200th victory in the final day of the UMES Hawk Classic. The Panthers finishes the day going 2-1, good enough for a seventh place finish out of the 19 participants.

The milestone victory came against Kutztown University in match three when AU was inspired to fire 200, 175, 196, 160, 209 games en route to a four games to one win over KU. The day started well for Adelphi with a win over a strong Delaware State squad, 4-3. The match saw the Panthers fall in game one but rebound with three straight wins. DESU roared back to extend the match to an exciting game seven with Adelphi prevailing, 178-162.

Adelphi next took on the Red Wolves of Arkansas State University. The back-and-forth battle saw Adelphi take games one and three but fall in game two by seven pins, and game four by four pins.

The sixth and deciding game was hotly contested with the Panthers falling 177-175. The Panther finished the tournament in seventh place among a strong field of 19 NCAA competitors.The squad is now 23-15 on the season.

In individual accomplishments, Danielle Merino garnered an All-Tournament selection. Merino shot games of 209, 174, 204, 189, and 222 for a pin fall total of 998 pins and a 199.60 average which was third highest among all competitors.

The Panthers return to action on Saturday, December 5, 2009 in Midlothian, Virginia at the Jeannette Lee Invitational hosted by St. Paul's College of Virginia.
