Millsboro, DE - In second day action at the UMES Hawk Classic, the women's bowling posted a perfect record of 5-0, including defeating defending NCAA Champion and top ranked Vanderbilt University. The Panthers finished the weekend with a record of 9-2, placing fourth and improve to 18-18 overall. The day started well with Adelphi defeating Bowie State University 746-517. In game two the Panthers took an early and dramatic lead over the Commodores 201-157. However, Vandy battled back 217-183 in game two. The Adelphi squad of Cristina Reale, Valerie Passaniti, Jennifer Ferraro, Danielle Locurto, and Dianna Molenko combined for a slim 175-164 victory in game three. In a tight game four, the Panthers prevailed 193-184 to clinche the victory 752-722. The team rolled on following the Vanderbilt match picking up three more victories. Next up was St. Francis College 726-688, followed by Bethune-Cookman 690-646, and Winston-Salem University 669-458. Reale was the highest ranked Adelphi individual, finishing 19th among 126 bowlers with a 190.33 average during the two-day tournament. The Panthers return to action on December 1, when they travel to Lawrenceville, Virginia to compete in the Jeanette Lee Invitational. |
