Elmwood Park, New Jersey - The Panthers traveled to Elmwood Park, New Jersey on Friday evening to open up their season in the first day of the three day tournament, the FDU Fright Knight Invite hosted by Farleigh Dickinson University. The Panthers were victorious in their first baker match, but dropped the next four to tough competition. The lone win is a milestone in Adelphi's bowling history as it marks the program's 100th victory.

The first match was played against the #16 Golden Bears of Kutztown University. Adelphi pulled out the win by a 73 pin margin beating the bears handily 756-683. The second match was lost against the #2 Commodores of Vanderbilt University by a score of 771-709. NEC rivals, #17 St. Peters edged the Panthers by 35 pins to serve Adelphi their second loss of the day by a score of 648-613. The latter part of the day saw a match against the defending NCAA champions, the University of Maryland at Eastern Shore. The Panthers held their own against the bowling powerhouse in a match that proved to come down to the last three frames by UMES's final bowler, who posted three consecutive strikes for the turkey and a 16 pin margin for the win (763-747). The day concluded with a final match against the Morgan State University Bears. Down by 25 pins after the first game, the Bears rallied to take the baker set 642-635.

The Panthers ended the day 1-4 with total pin fall of 3,460. The FDU Fright Knight Invite will continue today and end on Sunday, November 1.
