Feb. 26, 2007

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University bowling team finished the final Northeast Women's Bowling Conference event with a mark of 1-4 on the day, picking up their only win against nationally ranked New Jersey City University (NJCU). With the 1-4 results, the Panthers close out the regular season with a mark of 29-38.

Adelphi dropped the first game to top-ranked Fairleigh Dickinson, 998-897, and followed that up with a loss to St. Francis, 823-778, before bouncing back against third ranked NJCU. The NJCU match came down to the last roll, as Michelle Montgoris, needed five pins for the win, dropped six, securing an 811-809, Panther victory.

Unfortunately, Adelphi could not keep the momentum rolling, dropping the final two games of the day to St. Peter's (847-801) and host Sacred Heart (998-897).

The Panthers will return to action on March 10 when they participate in the ECAC Championships in East Brunswick, New Jersey.
