Bowling Places Seventh at Capital Classic

 
 

 
Bowling returns to action on February 17.

Dover, DE - The Adelphi University bowling team finished the two-day Capital Classic in Dover, Delaware in seventh place out of 14 competing schools. On the second day, Adelphi posted a record of 1-4 and finished the tournament with a mark of 4-6.

The Panthers ended pool play with losses to University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, 942-837, and Morgan State University, 817-795, dropping to sixth in pool A. However, Adelphi did advance to championship play.

In championship play, the Panthers faced defending NCAA National Champion top-ranked Farleigh Dickinson University, falling, 779-713. Then Adelphi faced conference rival Sacred Heart University, dropping the match by a mere 20 pins over four Baker games, 690-670. The Panthers finished the day by defeating the defending CIAA Champions Bowie State University 3-1 in a best of five baker series.

Adelphi is currently 22-30 on the season and will return to action on February 17, when they participate in the Morgan State Invitational.
