Dover, DE - The Adelphi University bowling team traveled to Dover, Delaware on February 10 to participate in the two-day Capital Classic, hosted by Delaware State University. On the first day of action, the Panthers finished in the black, posting a record of 3-2, which raises their overall record to 21-26 on the season. The Panthers started the day with a loss to Hampton University, 858-780, but finished on a positive note, knocking off defending CIAA Champion Bowie State University, 803-723, to claim its third victory of the day. Adelphi was led by Valerie Passaniti's 195 and LuAnna Lasso's 176 in their win over Hampton. The Panthers then triumphed, 771-759, against Howard University and followed that up with an, 849-651, victory over Coppin State University. Krystle Monroe led the way with a 210 and Passaniti added a 199. The squad was slowed by Delaware State, 832-775, before bouncing back against Bowie State. The Panthers finished the day in fourth place in Pool A with a total pin fall of 3978 outscoring St. Peters College, St. Francis University, and Cheyney University. Adelphi returns to action on February 11 when they close out the Capital Classic in Dover, Delaware. |
