Dover, DE - The Adelphi University bowling team traveled to Dover, Delaware on Sunday, February 10 to close out the two-day Delaware State Capital Classic. The Panther posted a record of 3-2 on the second day of action and secured a two-day mark of 6-4 to finish sixth in the 14 team field. Adelphi is now 50-53 overall. The Panthers faced Kutztown State in the first match of the day as Cristina Reale, Valerie Passaniti, Jennifer Ferraro, Michelle Montgoris, and Dianna Molenko rolled games of 201, 183, 203, and 164 to outpace Kutztown 751-707. Maryland Eastern Shore opened game two with a commanding 70 pin first game lead that Adelphi was unable to overcome, falling 685-798. Reale, Passaniti, Ferraro, Hayes, and Molenko recorded 185, 223, 234, and 192 point games to pick up a 834-763 win over Hampton in game three. Morgan State and Adelphi faced off in a best of seven series in game four as the Panthers dropped Morgan Statet, 4-2. Danielle Locurto rolled a big game along with Passaniti, Ferraro, Hayes, and Molenko with game scores of 185-160, 167-149, 170-196, 176-190, 225-195, and 179-150. Adelphi ended the day against Wisconsin Whitewater (UWW). UWW picked up the first two games 160-206 and 190-191, but the Panthers battled back 182-164 in game three. UWW claimed game four 179-257, before Adelphi reeled off two straight wins in Game five and six to, 233-193 and 216-159. With the match tied at three games apiece Adelphi held a lead through five frames but was no able to hold off UWW falling 174-225. The Panthers return to action on Saturday, February 16 when they travel to Baltimore, Maryland to compete in the Morgan State Invitational. |
