Laurel, Maryland - The Adelphi University bowling team traveled to Laurel, Maryland on Saturday January 26 to compete in the two-day Bowie State Invitational. After one day of action the Panthers are in eighth place overall out of 20 competing teams, having dropped 3655 pins and posting a record of 3-2. In ngame one the Pirates of Hampton University battled the Panthers in a see-saw battle that saw Adelphi pick up a two pin win, 689-687. #7 Delaware State overcome an early Panther lead to take the second match from Adelphi, 764-790. The Bears of Morgan State University prevailed over Adelphi, 685-725 in game three action. Match four saw two 200+ efforts by the Panthers, helping Adelphi pick u a 782-656 win over Howard University. The final match of the game was a battle against host Bowie State University and came down to the last ball. Adelphi held on for a, 735-731 victory. The Panthers return to action on Sunday, January 27 when they complete action at the Bowie State Invitational in Laurel, Maryland. |
