March 6, 2007 Garden City, N.Y. - Juniors Gianna Smith and Mary Lepore were each recognized as All-ECC selections, earning first and third team honors, respectively, as announced during the ECC Basketball Championships. University of New Haven senior forward Ashley Hilton was selected ECC Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Molloy College freshman forward Kymira Woodberry was chosen as ECC Rookie of the Year, and Molloy coach Tim O'Hagan was voted ECC Coach of the Year by his peers. This is the first post-season honor for Smith, a three-time ECC Baden Player of the Week. She led the team in both points (16.3) and rebounds (7.0) this season and notched her 1,000th career point against the University of Bridgeport on February 17. Joining Smith and Hilton on the First Team are junior guard Randi Bender of Molloy College; senior center/forward Angelina Jimenez of University of Bridgeport; and junior guard Erika Ostrove of St. Thomas Aquinas. Lepore, a second-team selection in 2006, ranked second on the team in scoring (10.9) and rebounds (6.4). In all, nine schools were represented on the All-ECC teams. C.W. Post and New Haven each had three total selections, Adelphi and Molloy each had two selections, and Bridgeport, Dowling, Mercy, New York Institute of Technology and St. Thomas Aquinas, each had one All-Conference pick. 2006-07 ECC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL POSTSEASON AWARDS
