Garden City, N.Y. - For the second consecutive week and the third time this season junior Gianna Smith (Hempstead, N.Y.) was named the ECC Co-Baden Player of the Week. She shares this week's honors with Elissa Krossber of Mercy College.

Smith averaged a double-double at 23.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game last week. In AU's 67-64 win over Molloy on Saturday night that clinched the third spot in the ECC Tournament for the Panthers, Smith scored all seven of her team's final points in the last 1:27 of the game to seal the victory. Smith scored 26 total points versus Molloy. On the week, she hit 55.2 percent of her field goals and 78.9 percent of her free throws.

Adelphi returns to action tonight, hosting Molloy College in the first round of the ECC Tournament. The winner moves on to play the winner of the #2 C.W. Post/#7 NYIT contest on Saturday, March 3 at the University of Bridgeport.
