2003 NCAA Tennis Bracket
April 30, 2003 Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi men's tennis team will make its first-ever team appearance at the NCAA Division II Tennis Championships, May 2-4 at host Kutztown University. The Panthers (10-7) are the No. 6 seed going into the tournament and will face No. 3 Assumption in the first round. Also representing the NYCAC in the East region are No. 4 seed Concordia College, which earned an automatic bid after winning the NYCAC Championships, and No. 5 Queens College. The championship consists of a 16-team single elimination tournament. Each of the following eight regions will conduct two first- and second-round tournaments: East, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, South, Great Lakes, Central, North Central and West. The winner of each first and second round tournament advances to the finals in Altamonte Springs, Florida, on May 8-11. In the 2002 championships, Brigham Young-Hawaii defeated Drury in a 5-4 come-from-behind match to capture its first national championship title. |
