Garden City, N.Y. - Jason Akbar will no longer serve as Head Coach of the Adelphi University men and women's tennis programs as announced by Director of Athletics Robert Hartwell. Assistant Coach Chris Lee will fill the roll of interim head coach until further notice.

Lee is in his first year as an assistant with the tennis program, helping the women's team to a 4-6 overall record and a 4-2 mark in the East Coast Conference. Lee is a 2006 graduate of Adelphi University and was a four-year letterwinner and two-time captain of the tennis team while an undergraduate. He helped the Panthers to a regional berth during the 2002-2003 season.

Akbar guided the tennis program for eight months, compiling a 4-6 record on the women's side, while helping the men to a mark of 1-0 before stepping down.
