Garden City, NY - Adelphi University junior Sebastian Nieves has been named East Coast Conference (ECC) Player of The Week as announced by the conference office on March 23. This is the second honor this season for Nieves.

The Racketman posted a 3-1 week, letting up only six games in his victories over Wisconsin La Crosse, Merrimack and Knox. Nieves carried a winning streak of five going into the match-up against the #14 ranked Rollins College, where he drew #27 individually ranked Neil Clausen in second singles. He forced three sets in the loss against the nationally ranked opponent. Nieves partnered up with Anton Voynov in second doubles and also posted a 3-1 record for week. Their five match winning streak ended against Rollins as well.

Nieves and the rest of the Panthers will be back on tap when they travel to Kutztown University to take on the Golden Bears on March 27.
