Franklin Pierce Box Score/Saint Anselm Box Score

Garden City, N.Y. -

The Adelphi University men's tennis team blanked both Franklin Pierce University and Saint Anselm College, 9-0, this past weekend. The Panthers go to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference.

In the Panthers' 9-0 win over Franklin Pierce on Saturday, Sebastian Nieves and Joseph Carbone both picked up 8-4 Pro Set wins at #1 and #4 singles, respectively. Nieves and Anton Voynov won at #1 doubles, 8-3, Bandar Kayali and Carbone won at #2 doubles, 8-3, and Leonard Bruno and Adrish Tewarie collected a win at #3 doubles, 8-2.

On Sunday, the Panthers crusied to a 9-0 win at Saint Anselm. Carbone, Bruno, and Tewaire all collected Pro Set victories at #4-#6 singles, 8-3, 8-6, and 8-4. The doubles teams of Nieves/Voynov, Kayali/Carbone, and Bruno/Tewarie swept the competiton to secure back-to-back shutouts for the Panthers.

The Panthers close out the fall portion of their schedule and return to action on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 when they travel to Pace University for a 3:00 pm start.
