Results

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Junior, Nicolas Sanchez and freshman, Sebastian Nieves picked up second and third flight singles victories, but it was not enough to lift the Panthers over East Coast Conference foe, Dowling College, as they fell 7-2. The loss drops Adelphi to 4-4 overall and 1-4 in the ECC. The Golden Lions improve to 9-4 overall and 3-2 in the ECC.

Sanchez defeated Willem Jansen Van Rensburg 6-3 in the first set before Van Rensburg retired from the match. Nicolas improves his overall singles record to 5-3 and 2-3 against conference opponents.

Nieves handled Jose Gomez in two sets, taking a 6-4 win in the first set and 6-3 in the second. Sebastian is now 4-4 overall and 2-3 in East Coast Conference competition.

Adelphi returns to action Sunday, April 15 when they host Bloomfield College at Hempstead Lake State Park.
