Flushing, N.Y. - The Adelphi men's tennis team opened their 2004 campaign at the NYCAC individual championships held at Queens College. The Panthers struggled in their first competition of the season, with just one team member advancing past the first round.

Abhijeet Muzumdar (Bellerose, N.Y.) was seeded second in the first flight singles bracket. Muzumdar won his match against Philadelphia's Othman Loudghiri, 6-2 and 6-4, before falling to a member of Mercy's team 6-2 and 6-1. No one else on Adelphi's team was seeded and no one else advanced past the first round.

The Panthers return to action Thursday, March 11th when they travel to Fordham for a 3:30 pm match-up with the Rams.
