Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University senior Patrick Figueiredo and sophomore Thorne Holder placed among the nation's best in a combined four NCAA statistical categories. Both Figueiredo and Holder earned all-conference honors and were among the top-20 in the country in two statistical categories. Figueiredo finshed among the top-13 in the country in two categories. He is seventh in the nation in goals per game, averaging just under one goal per contest (0.95). Figueiredo also closed out the season 13th in the country in points per game with an average of 2.05. Holder placed among the top-20 in the nation in two categories as well. He posted a save percentage of 0.85 which slotted him in at 16th in the nation. Holder also allowed just 0.656 goals per game, which placed him 20th in the country. The Panthers closed out the 2008 season with a record of 12-6 overall and captured the Atlantic Soccer Conference (ASC) regular season title, as well as advancing to the ASC tournament final. |
