Figueiredo, Holder Earn Atlantic Soccer Conference All-Tournament Honors

Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University men's soccer players Patrick Figueiredo and Thorne Holder earned all-tournament honors for their play at the 2008 Atlantic Soccer Conference (ASC) tournament. Figueiredo was named Offensive Player of the tournament, while Holder earned Defensive Player of the tournament honors. Longwood's Joel Helmick was named tournament MVP.

Figueiredo scored two goals over two games, helping the Panthers to the ASC Championship game, while Holder allowed just one goal in 180 minutes of action and made 11 saves.

Figueiredo is the 2007 and 2008 Atlantic Soccer Conference (ASC) Player of the Year. He is also a three-time first-team all-conference selection and an NSCAA all-region selection in 2006 in addition to being ranked among the top-15 in the country in two statistical categories. Figueiredo is eighth in the nation in goals per game (0.83) and 14th in points per game (1.72).

Holder, a 2008 ASC All-Conference selection, led the Panthers with six shut outs and a 12-2 record. He saw 1,234 minutes in goal, making 51 saves and posting a goals against average of 0.66 and a save percentage of .850.

Adelphi posted a record of 12-6 overall and 4-0 in the ASC, capturing the regular season title and making a run to the ASC tournament final.
