Garden City, N.Y. - Senior Patrick Figueiredo (Campinas, Brazil) was selected to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America University Division men's soccer team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Figueiredo was a third-team All-America as announced on Wednesday, November 19. Figueiredo, a biology major, boasts a 3.74 GPA, is the 2007 and 2008 Atlantic Soccer Conference (ASC) Player of the Year. He is also a three-time first-team all-conference selection and an NSCAA all-region selection in 2006 in addition to being ranked among the top-15 in the country in two statistical categories. Figueiredo is eighth in the nation in goals per game (0.83) and 14th in points per game (1.72). The last Panther to earn academic All-America honors was Tal Lahav in 2005, he was a second-team selection. In all Figueiredo is the eighth Adelphi men's soccer player to earn academic All-America status. |
