Garden City, N.Y. - Senior men's soccer players Patrick Figueiredo (Campinas, Brazil) and Stephen Fregosi (Massapequa, N.Y.) have been recognized for their academic and athletic accomplishments by CoSida/ESPN the magazine as Academic All-District selections. Figureiredo was a District 1, First-Team honoree, while Fregosi earned second-team recognition. Figueiredo, the 2007 Atlantic Soccer Conference Player of the year, is a biology major with a 3.74 GPA who is having another stellar season for the Panthers (9-5), leading the team in goals (12) and points (25). He is currently ranked eighth in the nation in goals per game (0.86) and 16th in points per game (1.79). In addition Figueiredo is a two-time ASC first-team all-conference selection as well as an NSCAA All-Region honoree in 2006. Fregosi, a business management major with a 3.84 GPA, has seen action in 58 games over the past four seasons. He is currently tied for fifth on the team in points with four points on two goals, one of which proved to be the game winner in Adelphi's 3-1 win over Sacred Heart. The Panthers return to action on Sunday, November 2 when they travel to Farmville, Virginia to take on ASC foe Longwood. |
