Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University senior Patrick Figueiredo and sophomore Thorne Holder each earned Atlantic Soccer Conference (ASC) weekly honors as announced by the conference office on October 14. Figueiredo was named Player of the Week while Holder was honored as Goalie of the Week, this is the second week in a row that each player has been honored. Figueiredo picked up his third honor of the season leading the Panthers to their seventh straight win. Figueiredo combined for three goals last week, with victories over Princeton (2-1) and ASC foe Houston Baptist (2-0). He scored two goals in the victory over Princeton and one against Houston Baptist and has scored at least one goal in the last six out of seven contests for Adelphi. Holder, a native of Trinidad & Tobago, picked up his fourth honor as Goalkeeper of the Week. Holder posted two wins last week improving his record to a perfect 7-0 and recorded his fourth shutout of the year against conference foe Houston Baptist on Friday night. Holder combined for eight saves in 182:59 minutes and has posted a shutout in four of his first seven games in net. Adelphi returns to action on Tuesday, October 14 when they take on Columbia University at 7:00 pm. |
