Aug. 16, 2007 Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's and women's soccer teams will play all their home games off campus this fall as the University finishes construction on a new stadium. The men will play home games at Belson Stadium on the campus of St. John's University, while the women will call Michael Tully Park in New Hyde Park home. The new stadium, which is expected to be completed by May 2008, will replace Stiles Field, which had been home to both teams for since its completion in 1956. The new Adelphi stadium, which will be home to the soccer and lacrosse teams, will have a garage underground below it and be raised a few feet above ground level. The new stadium will also have lights, which will enable both teams to schedule night games for the first time, and expand the use of the facility. The men will play six home games this year with their first coming on September 13 against Stony Brook at 2:00 pm. The women's first home contest will kick-off at 4:00 pm on September 18 against St. Thomas Aquinas.
