Durham, N.H. - The Adelphi University men's soccer team suffered a dissapointing loss in their season home opener against the Vermont Spiders at the Nike Fall Classic. The Panthers fall to 0-1 on the season, while the Spiders advance to 1-0.

Both teams remained scoreless in the first quarter. The Spiders' offense dominated as they outshot the Panthers, 17-7. Vermont's Tony Anderson scored the first goal at 61:02 on a header off a cross from Adam Wallace. The Spiders would score again at the 80:37 mark to seal the victory, 2-0.

Adelphi's Igor Yatsenko had eight saves, giving up two goals on the day. David Sullivan recorded five saves for Vermont.

Adelphi returns to action on Sunday, September 1, against host New Hampshire at 3:00 p.m.
